The Big Sister/Little Sister Mentoring Program has been operating in the College for over 30 years. It is a vital part of the Pastoral program offered at the College, as it assists in nurturing and developing strong bonds of trust and friendship in the student community. The aims are to: - Assist the newest members of the College community (Year 7) with their transition to high school by providing support and encouragement from senior students.
- Enable the senior students to exercise and increase their leadership potential through their interaction with Year 7.
Both the Year 7 and Year 12 Pastoral Care programs provide opportunities for each Big Sister to interact with her Little Sister in an informal, semi-structured meaningful way. This is achieved through activity afternoons, combined morning teas or sausage sizzles and general playground interactions before school, at morning tea and lunch breaks. The Big Sisters are also invited to attend the Year 7 Class Masses and support their Little Sisters at other whole College events such as College Masses, Assemblies and Sports Carnivals. | |
