St Ursula's frequently donates blood at the Red Cross Blood Bank in the city after school three times a term. Any student who is 16 or over, weighing more than 50kgs and in good health is eligible to donate. Donations are a very practical way to assist those who have medical conditions which are often life-threatening. All donors are given refreshments and a certificate. In 2010, St Ursula's was awarded the Australian Red Cross 'Vampire Shield' for the third year in a row, as the school with the greatest number of blood donors. |
