Each year the College participates in a variety of Debating and Public Speaking competitions.
In the last few years our students have spoken in the Lions ‘Youth of the Year’ Quest, the Catholic Schools Debating Competition, the St George Eisteddfod and the Hurstville ‘Voice of Youth’ Competition and have at different times taken first place at all the events.
Debating has always been a popular creative outlet for our students. Auditions are conducted in Term 1 by the Debating Coordinator and the Year 12 Debating Committee. The College has seen a number of teams make it to the finals of the Catholic Schools Debating Competition and have won both the Junior and Senior Divisions of the St George Debating Eisteddfod. The student debating committee support and host debating nights and ex-students, staff and parents assist with adjudication. |
