The Mock Trial is sponsored by the Law Society of NSW and is open to all students in Years 10 and 11. There are four preliminary rounds, with subsequent trials depending on each schools performance in the compulsory section. It is very similar to a real trial, and the outcome is determined by a visiting magistrate. Two opposing schools take on the role of either Prosecution/Plaintiff or Defence. Students learn the skills of advocacy and enjoy some very interesting cases! The Mock Trial suits any student who has an interest in the legal system, and who likes public speaking or debating. It is a great opportunity for any student doing Legal Studies and anyone interested in a Law degree. |
