Since 2007, St Ursula’s College has been making regular fortnightly visits to Rosemore Nursing Home in Belmore. These visits consist of twelve students and a teacher spending up to two hours on a Friday afternoon sharing conversations, stories and singing for the elderly. Students from the College Youth Vinnies group who engage in this ministry are placed onto a roster. Due to age limitations for some social justice activities provided by the St Vincent de Paul Society, the Nursing Home Visitations is an excellent avenue for the students, in particular the junior students, to actively put their ‘faith into action’ and share in their story. Nursing home visitations is a highly enjoyable and life giving experience for both staff and students. |
