Following in the tradition of Saint Angela Merici, we aim to nourish the
growth of the whole person: intellectually, physically, emotionally,
spiritually and socially. We believe growth is best achieved in a
caring environment that has clear boundaries but is grounded in mutual
respect between parents, teachers and students.
Within our
Catholic tradition, individuals are encouraged to share, celebrate and
grow in their faith. Individuals are called to know, experience and
foster God’s Kingdom in a modern context. The vision of growth for our
students at St Ursula’s College extends beyond school life and so we aim
to prepare our young people to provide strong, vibrant leadership now
and for the future; leadership that is honest and reflects Catholic
values.
Each student is seen as a potential leader, someone who
can develop her natural potential to be a light to a world in need of
help. No matter what their role in life, our students can grow to serve
one another, and be examples of compassion, integrity and vision. The
traits of true leadership are not derived from position; rather they are
demonstrated by a person’s character, beliefs and values, and the
application of skills and knowledge. In short, it is what a person does
and how she responds to circumstances that displays true leadership.
Leadership
is both a privilege and a responsibility. Above all else, leadership is
service. In accepting a leadership position, a student is making a
commitment to live the mission and values of the College in both their
words and actions.
