Introduction

Visual Arts provides diverse and engaging learning opportunities through which students may develop their skills by making artworks and thinking creatively.  The artrooms and art staff are equipped to offer studio experience in many media areas including digital and wet photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, visual design, painting, drawing, graphic design, film, video, architecture, book illustration, computer graphics, art theory and art appreciation.  Students learn to develop and record their experiences in a visual diary and as they progress through the college may study the subject to HSC level.  Students of the Visual Arts have been very successful academically and many have gone on to have careers in the Visual Arts after leaving the College.  Each year students excel in countless ways. Artworks have been chosen to be exhibited in The Clancy Art Prize for religious art, Artexpress and Artrules.  St Ursula’s students have also been accepted into the National Art School HSC extension programme. We are proud of our department and its teachers and students.
