The St Ursula’s College community came together to celebrate St Ursula’s Day with a program of events, including a liturgy, walkathon and market stalls.
St Angela Merici was immersed in serving her community at their place of need and our Feast Day is our opportunity for all students and staff to follow Angela’s lead and live out the College motto Serviam.
Our Feast Day began with a beautiful liturgy, where we were reminded of St Angela Merici’s courage to act and bring Jesus into the hearts of many young women in Brescia Italy in a time when women did not always have a voice.
With the blessings of a sunny day allowing for the perfect walking weather, our students and staff took to the streets for a 6km walkathon. Upon return, our community was treated to an array of market stalls, prepared and organised by our Year 10 Commerce classes.
In total, activities from the day and donations raised over $36,000, with funds raised going to Ursuline sisters in Cambodia to support the Mother of Peace Primary School.
The Serviam spirit is truly alive and well as St Ursula’s.
